Volunteering Programs

Early Experience Initiative

The Early Experience Initiative is a summer volunteer program for adolescents ages 11 to 14, designed to provide a structured introduction to the workplace environment and the field of early childhood education.

Participants gain firsthand experience in a professional setting while learning essential workplace values such as responsibility, communication, time management, and teamwork. While youth volunteers do not participate in the direct care or supervision of children, they engage with classrooms through play, activity support, and social interaction—offering them meaningful exposure to the rhythms and responsibilities of a childcare setting.

This initiative serves as a stepping stone for young individuals interested in education, child development, or community-based work, and may count toward community service hours or be used as an early reference for future job applications.

Generational Connections Program

The Generational Connections Program is a volunteer initiative that invites older adult women—particularly those from assisted living or retirement communities—to engage with young children through joyful, play-based interaction.

This program fosters meaningful intergenerational connection by welcoming volunteers into a vibrant childcare setting where they can share stories, participate in classroom activities, and build relationships with children in a supportive and social environment.

While volunteers are not involved in the direct care or supervision of children, their presence brings added warmth, perspective, and emotional enrichment to the classroom experience.

The program is designed to encourage community involvement, reduce social isolation, and celebrate the unique contributions of older generations.
